Aligning Purpose, Performance and People
How we innovate and collaborate to drive tangible positive change and create real value
It’s an exciting time at Boston Scientific. We’re expanding our reach every day as we identify new and innovative ways to advance healthcare.
We bring together insights from providers, industry and the public to generate ideas that drive tangible positive change and create real value. These ideas lead to new and disruptive innovation, from extraordinary products to new market creation. We do it through:
We work with a broad community of innovators—partners, startups, our own employees— and invest in new technologies to create solutions that address healthcare’s toughest problems.
One way we work closely with the startup community is through engagements like the Connected Patient Challenge, a global contest designed to spur innovation by encouraging companies and individuals to develop ideas using big data to improve patient outcomes.
Research: Nearly 40 years ago, Boston Scientific began partnering with physicians to create less-invasive medical technologies. Today, with more than 150 pre-and post-market clinical trials underway with physicians around the world and more than 50 solutions engagements in the last year, we collaborate with a broad base of clinical researchers, practitioners and administrators to address their most pressing challenges.
Training: Our nine Institute for Advancing Science locations around the world offer hands-on, multidisciplinary training programs for physicians to support indication-driven outcomes and improve access to care. And our CVForward forum brings together CV leaders to learn, innovate and share practical advice.
Solutions: Through our ADVANTICS? program, we work with providers to create solutions to help you successfully transition to value-based care. What sets our experts apart is knowing which tried-and-true methods will work best, and when fresh thinking is needed for your business and clinical strategy to succeed.
In order to consistently deliver new technology and solutions that support customers, we invest a significant portion of sales in R&D and clinical science to develop medical technologies and solutions in areas where we see opportunities to improve outcomes, reduce costs and drive patient satisfaction. Our focused efforts have made us category leaders in interventional cardiology, rhythm management, structural heart, peripheral interventions, endoscopy, urology and pelvic health, and neuromodulation.
While Boston Scientific continues to grow—with 40 offices and more than 27,000 employees—the heart of what we do remains the same. We remain a community driven by the passion of our employees—creative intrepreneurial thinkers who are continually designing practical ways to improve technology and systems to improve the health of patients around the world.
